MainStream has had a long time interest in promoting strong science education standards in Kansas public schools, as well as supporting the presence of stem-cell research in the Greater Kansas City area.
MainStream is a supporter of both the Kansas and Missouri Coalitions for Lifesaving Cures. MAINstream has also hosted "field trips" to the Stowers Institute for our members, one of which is pictured here.
In the Spring of 2009, we sponsored a talk by Dr. Denis Lamoureux. Partnering with allied groups like Kansas Citizens for Science, this 1st Tuesday group will continue to keep its collective eye on issues related to supporting protecting science and science education from religious encroachment and/or control.
