Speaker: Suzanne Schrandt, Kansas Health Institute

The Affordable Health Care Act was enacted by Congress in 2010 and declared constitutional by the United States Supreme Court in the summer of 2012.  It will enable millions of uninsured Americas to have access to health care; nevertheless, it is one of the most controversial laws since the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960s.  Because of the complexity of the Act, it is difficult to understand.

The goal of the forum is to increase our understanding of the key components of the law, the time line for implementation, the meaning of "individual mandate," and how the law will affect you and your family.
