Stem cell research has long been of interest to members of the MainStream Coalition. Not only does this area of research and scientific advancement promote health and well being, it's economic impact in the Greater Kansas City area is undeniable.

The use of stem cell research has become a "church-state" issue, as far right religious groups continue to attempt to place their own religious beliefs onto public policy without regard for the common good. While we respect their rights to have and practice those beliefs, the MainStream Coalition does not support the imposition of narrowly held religious beliefs onto the area of scientific discovery.
