The staff of the MainStream Coalition support the directives of the volunteer Board of Directors, and are in turn supported by the dedicated, hard-working volunteers and members of the Coalition. Nothing would happen without all of us working together. Thank you.
Brandi has been with MainStream since 2011. She previously worked at the United Way of Wyandotte County where she served in several capacities including: directing their annual campaign, managing their grantmaking and community planning and leading a grassroots community-wide dialogue to engage parents, community members and educators in working together to ensure successful public schools. Prior to her time in Kansas City, she worked in Washington D.C. on several national community dialogues from topics on race relations to Social Security reform.
After a decade of volunteering with local nonprofits, Lesa joined the MainStream staff in 2012. She worked as a HIV counselor at KC Free Health Clinic and trained at Solace House as a grief counselor. During the last two decades, she has been a board member of True Blue Women, PTA and SM North Drama and Cross Country. She has organized membership drives, fundraisers, voter registrations, candidate panels and community meetings. She appreciates MainStream as an outlet for her passion of community engagement.
Lesa coordinates membership and volunteer opportunities for MainStream. She also assists in organizing events, phone banks and canvassing. You can find her simultaneously expanding active membership and encouraging everyone to get out and vote.
Danny came to MainStream after two decades working in web development in Higher Education, returning to his roots in writing, rekindling his passion for communicating difficult ideas in the clear, and finally doing something with his better-than-usual attention span for politics.
Danny writes for MainStream, maintains this website, and creates and posts content you see here, on Facebook, on Twitter, and in our emails.
With a varied career in activism, Liz brings energy and insight to MainStream's table. She connects MainStream's members and supporters with the legislative action in Topeka.
