Brandi Fisher

Brandi has been with MainStream since 2011. She previously worked at the United Way of Wyandotte County where she served in several capacities including: directing their annual campaign, managing their grantmaking and community planning and leading a grassroots community-wide dialogue to engage parents, community members and educators in working together to ensure successful public schools. Prior to her time in Kansas City, she worked in Washington D.C. on several national community dialogues from topics on race relations to Social Security reform.


Lesa Patterson-Kinsey

After a decade of volunteering with local nonprofits, Lesa joined the MainStream staff in 2012. She worked as a HIV counselor at KC Free Health Clinic and trained at Solace House as a grief counselor. During the last two decades, she has been a board member of True Blue Women, PTA and SM North Drama and Cross Country. She has organized membership drives, fundraisers, voter registrations, candidate panels and community meetings. She appreciates MainStream as an outlet for her passion of community engagement.

Lesa coordinates membership and volunteer opportunities for MainStream. She also assists in organizing events, phone banks and canvassing. You can find her simultaneously expanding active membership and encouraging everyone to get out and vote.


Danny Novo

Danny came to MainStream after two decades working in web development in Higher Education, returning to his roots in writing, rekindling his passion for communicating difficult ideas in the clear, and finally doing something with his better-than-usual attention span for politics.

Danny writes for MainStream, maintains this website, and creates and posts content you see here, on Facebook, on Twitter, and in our emails.


Julie Passett

Julie joined MainStream in October 2018 after diving into politics working on a congressional campaign. Prior to joining the political arena she spent her career working in corporate marketing in the Financial Services Industry and in magazine and catalog design and circulation.

Julie writes and posts content on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites, and applies her skills to many of our presentations and materials.


Lindsay Behgam

Lindsay is joining MainStream after most recently working for the Mayor’s office in Kansas City, Kansas, where she oversaw staff, policy and project management. She previously held roles in corporate community relations and on a number of Kansas political campaigns - at the local, state-wide and federal levels - including serving as Congressman Dennis Moore’s campaign manager for his successful 2008 re-election bid. Lindsay believes that an empowered electorate creates responsive, transparent and inclusive governments, and is looking forward to turning out more voters as MainStream’s Voter Engagement Coordinator.

John is joining MainStream after most recently working on a successful mayoral campaign. John is looking forward to fostering a culture of voting among Kansas’ newest voters and implementing a plan that will drive turnout among young adults. He hopes the next generation of Kansas voters will help create responsible and responsive governments across the state.


Sheyvette Dinkens

Sheyvette is originally from Liberal, KS. Already an award-winning teacher with degrees in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Addiction Counseling and an MBA, Sheyvette is pursuing a Masters in Secondary Education at Fort Hays University while working with Voter to Voter. Her passion and dedication to the people in her community, and her work to support others and plant the seeds of growth and empowerment, will be critical to engaging voters and increasing turnout.
