ACLU: SWJC Candidate Forum

ACLU along with Kansans for Smart Justice and the Kansas Coalition for Citizen Participation, which MainStream is a proud partner is hosting:

Southwest Johnson County Candidate Forum

October 11, 2018 6 pm - 8 pm

Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church
9400 Pflumm Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215

Civil liberties are major issues in this November’s election. We know that voters want to hear about where candidates stand on everything from reducing mass incarceration to increasing citizen participation. That’s why we’re sponsoring Kansas State House Candidate Forums so that voters have the opportunity to hear directly from, and talk directly to, candidates about where they stand on citizen participation in voting and criminal justice reform.

Join us for a candidate forum on criminal justice and citizen participation in Johnson County on Tuesday, October 9th. This forum is sponsored by Kansans for Smart Justice and the Kansas Coalition for Citizen Participation. All Kansas State Candidates from House Districts 8, 15, 26, 27, 28, 38, 43, 48, 49, 78, and 121 have been invited. These forums are nonpartisan, free, and open to the public.
Confirmed candidates as of 10/8/2018:  Brian Clausen, Jason K. Darby, Nick GIll, Chris Haulmark, Michele Lobitz, Deann Mitchell, John Toplikar.

This forum will be moderated by Dia Wall of KSHB 41 News.
