Mainstream Coalition is dedicated to creating a more representative and responsive government by empowering informed participation and meaningful action in the political process. We envision a Kansas political system that represents all of its constituents.
Mainstream is comprised of three affiliate organizations with distinct but complementary goals. Together, we aim to realize our shared vision of a Kansas political system that represents all of its constituents. We believe that engagement in all aspects of the political process is critical to our work.
Mainstream Coalition
Mainstream Coalition is a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan grassroots political organization. We were founded in 1993 with the primary purpose of guarding against ideological extremism and protecting the separation of church and state. While our sphere of advocacy has grown over the years, we remain true to the full work of democracy that has always been integral to our mission: respect for the rights, beliefs, and freedoms of all individuals.
Mainstream Civic Engagement Foundation
Mainstream Civic Engagement Foundation (formerly The Mainstream Education Foundation) is our 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to furthering Mainstream's goal of increasing informed voter turnout, through educational programming and events.
MainPAC
MainPAC closed in January 2023. Political activity permitted by the IRS, including candidate recommendations, is now part of the Coalition's body of work. Founded in 2008, MainPAC fought to counter extremist ideologies by working to elect common sense leaders at the local, state, and statewide levels of government.
