ALERT - Thank Sen. Faust-Goudeau on campus carry repeal

Senate Bill 53 will go before the Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs on Thursday. Senator Oletha Faust-Goudeau is the ranking Democrat on that committee, and is committed to this issue. Today, we are asking you to contact her and thank her in her support of this bill.

This bill would repeal the campus carry provision of Kansas' concealed carry firearms law. As the law stands now, on July 1, 2017, concealed firearms will be allowed on Kansas university and college campuses. College is a stressful experience, full of growth opportunities and setbacks. Requiring that our universities allow loaded, concealed weapons in classrooms, dorms, offices and public areas is dangerous.

  • Call her office at (785) 296-7387 and leave this short message:

"My name is _______ and I am calling to thank Sen. Faust-Goudeau for her support of SB 53 to repeal the campus carry provision in Kansas law. Our college and university campuses need to be safe places for young people to learn and grow. Thank you."

And thank you for doing more than voting. Tomorrow, we will have another action related to this bill.
