“Continuing the Conversation” is a Mainstream Live series focused on creating a space to amplify black voices. In each conversation we’ll hear from community leaders and advocates as they share their experiences and discuss how we can move forward toward, together. This is just one of the ways Mainstream is continuing to work with our partners in the fight to end systemic racism.
We'll have a panel discussion on Racial equity and education. Joining us are:
Justice Horn a Social justice activist and community organizer.
Sheila Davis-Norman a divorced mother of three children, and a beautiful granddaughter. Born in California but raised in Kansas City, she's volunteered for several organizations supporting youth sports and education over the years in the KC metro and surrounding areas. She attended Avila University and graduated with a major in Healthcare Management. However, being a mother is what she considers her most important role and occupation.
David Smith is the Chief Communications Officer for the Shawnee Mission School District. He has worked in executive leadership in school districts in Kansas for the last 15 years. He is a member of the Mainstream Board of Directors, and currently serves as vice-president.
