We are a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that believes that moderate voices need to be heard in today’s political climate. We stand for common sense and good government. Get Out the Vote Paid Summer Intern
Summer Stipend
25 – 30 hrs wk
Job Description
- Hands-on experience with Get Out The Vote activities to increase voter turnout in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties.
- Conduct voter registration
- Increase Voter engagement
- Make phone calls to voters
- Manage volunteers who attend canvasses in your assigned district
- Help plan, coordinate and carry out canvasses in your assigned district
- Door to door, walking canvass of assigned areas
- Attend a weekly team meeting
- Assist with Summer Get Out the Vote Rally
- Represent MainStream at community events
- Plan other fun events to engage voters and increase turnout
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Qualities
- Enthusiastic about grassroots organizing and Kansas politics
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written skills
- Need own transportation
- Willingness to work a mixture of days, evenings, weekends

Summer Unpaid Intern
- Hours: flexible 10-15 hrs a week
- Seeking an energetic, motivated intern to volunteer for MainStream’s political action committee, MainPac.
- Phone banking to voters in support of a candidate
- Canvass in assigned districts
- Hand out advance ballot forms
- Educate the public regarding voting rights and election deadlines
- Represent MainPAC at community events.
