Rep. Barbara Bollier, KS House District 21

Dr. Barbara Bollier is a 4th generation Kansas City native, representing the 21st District in the Kansas House of Representatives. A Shawnee Mission East graduate, she attended the University of Kansas Medical Center and completed her residency in Anesthesiology in Houston, TX. Returning to Overland Park, she practiced for twelve years, until her growing family led her and her husband, Rene, to decide on a change. Barbara retired from active practice in 1999, and devoted herself to her family and to public service. She has volunteered at Rushton Elementary, tutored and advocated for a child with significant learning disabilities, chaired a palliative care committee with the Center for Practical Bioethics, and co-chaired the grant committee for the Board of the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation.

Rep. Bollier entered the KS House in 2010, and has served the following committee assignments: Education; Vision 2020; Veterans, Military & Homeland Security; Aging and Long Term Care; Health and Human Services, Children and Seniors, and Insurance.
