Kansas Citizens For Science presents:
Global and Local Climate Change: a discussion
Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 6:30pm (come at 5:30 for dinner)
Coach's Bar & Grill, 135th & Grandview
Speaker:
Dr. Fengpeng Sun, a Climate Scientist, and an Assistant Professor from Department of Geosciences at UMKC, will join us to share his knowledge of global and regional climate change, the potential causes of climate change and future climate change projections. Join us to find out ways to adapt to climate change and mitigate its effects and help protect our planet Earth. More about Dr. Sun and his research can be found: http://s.web.umkc.edu/sunf/
Short bio: Dr. Sun received his Ph.D. from University of California, Irvine (UCI) in Earth System Science with a focus on climate dynamics. After his Ph.D., he worked at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), first as a post-doc and then a research scientist. In 2016 September, he joined UMKC as an assistant professor. His research and teaching interests include quantifying climate change and its impacts, and developing numerical climate models to reconstruct past climate and project future climate change.

He is a very interesting speaker, that I think you will really enjoy!
As usual, come early and have some dinner. We will be meeting in the bigger back room this month, just to see how it works. Remember, Coach’s Bar & Grill is actually one block SOUTH of 135th St – turn south on Grandview – there is a traffic light there now.
See you Wednesday!
