Kansas Citizens for Science presents a Science Cafe: Great American Eclipse of 2017
Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2016 at 6pm
Coaches Bar in Overland Park.
A total eclipse is the most awesome natural phenomenon that you will ever see. What is exciting is that next year, on Monday August 21st, 2016, the USA will have its first total eclipse since 1979. The shadow (or umbra) of the moon enters the country in Oregon, and moves all the way across our country, finally going out to sea at S. Carolina.
The shadow passes just on the north side of Kansas City!! I’m so excited about it, especially for all of you who have never seen one. You have probably guessed by now, that this month’s Café will be all about the Great American Eclipse of 2017, presented by Yours Truly. I will tell you all about them, and what you have to do to prepare for this lifetime event. Many of you have probably seen a PARTIAL eclipse of the sun – but that isn’t even 5% of the thrill of totality.
Hope you can come and hear all about it. Fellow Eclipse Chasers, David and Marcia Young, will also be there, and we all will share our stories, and do our darndest to help you understand why you can’t miss this magnificent event!
Come as early as 5:30 for dinner – and we will start the program at 6:30 PM. See you there!
