At MainStream, we respect those who dedicate themselves to public service. There is no greater sacrifice for the public good than that of the men and women of the armed forces who have lost their lives in service to the nation. This Memorial Day, we honor their memories, and their commitment.

As part of the oath they swear upon enlistment, each and every one pledged to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States." The same is sworn by new citizens during naturalization ceremonies. The same is expected of all of us.

Our Constitution is clearly open to many interpretations, over the years it has been argued and amended. Even now it is challenged in the Supreme Court of the United States, on several fronts.

But one aspect nobody disputes is the importance of the people in its creation, its defense, its endurance. We ensure its continued relevance by participating at all levels of government, by making ourselves heard, and by voting.
