We Must Not Fail

This is a letter from MainStream's new Board President, Sheryl Spalding.

spalding-sheryl-2105-01-16.jpgWe have a lot to look forward to this year and a lot to work on as members of Mainstream Coalition. We can and will build on our strong foundation. Last year we worked with a coalition of like-minded groups of people across the state and across the state line. These groups as well as ours will continue cooperating. We shared information about issues and will continue to do so especially during the legislative session.

I am so grateful to so many who have worked tirelessly to keep the mainstream voice alive, to let others know they weren’t alone. I want to thank all those who have joined Mainstream and those who have liked us on Facebook. Thank you to all those who spent many hours volunteering on campaigns, to those who wrote letters to the editor and who helped get out the vote.

I especially want to thank all those previous and current board members who have worked selflessly in all the many outreach programs we sponsor. I want to say also a special thanks to former Mayor of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Carol Marinovich who agreed to be our vice president. She has been nationally recognized for her proven skills in forging partnerships and moving visions to reality. I am looking forward to working with her to expand the reach of Mainstream.

Last but not least I want to thank the current executive director, Brandi and the staff Danny and Lesa. Their efforts in improving the infrastructure allows us to continue to improve our outreach.

Never before has Mainstream and its ideas about good government been so needed and so necessary to the health and well being of this community. If we truly believe in good efficient government, in representing the mainstream, not the extreme views so in evidence, we must not only continue, we must not fail.
